Frequently asked questions
Swimwear, a towel, sunscreen and your biggest smile!
We take care of the rest: board and rash guard are included, plus good vibes and bad surfing jokes.
Yes, of course – the board is always included.
We match you with the right board for your level, and you get a rash guard as well. No hidden costs, no stress, just waves!
If Hiriketiya is too messy or flat, we check nearby beaches for better waves. If it still doesn’t look fun or safe, we simply move your lesson to another time.
Everyone’s welcome – total beginners, weekend surfers and advanced wave addicts.
We work on whatever you need: first pop-ups, green waves, timing, turns or reading the line-up. I also team up with very experienced local instructors, so you always get coaching that fits your level.
Most lessons are around 1–1.5 hours, depending on your level and the conditions.
Beginners spend a bit more time on land first (safety, basics, pop-up), and then roughly one hour in the water. For more experienced surfers, the land practice is shorter, so the whole session can be a bit shorter too.
If there are fewer waves or the ocean is a bit tricky that day, the lesson might run a little longer or shorter – the main goal is always the same: you should catch enough waves and leave the water stoked.
Once you book, I will send you the meeting point via WhatsApp.
Yes, for sure. There is a very good surf photographer in Hiriketiya who we love working with – perfect for photos, videos and drone shots.
We’re happy to connect you and share his Instagram profile: Salt Waves Film Crew
